Gary Franklin Broach

OBITUARY: The Lancaster News, August 22, 1967

A one-car accident here early Friday morning claimed the life of a 21-year –old Lancaster man and hospitalized another youth.

Gary Franklin Broach, of 49 Springdale Road and an employee at Bowaters Carolina Corp., at Catawba, was killed instantly in the wreck which occurred shortly before 1:00 o’clock Friday morning.

Funeral services for Mr. Broach were conducted Saturday afternoon from Temple Baptist Church with the pastor, the Rev. B.A. Davis officiating. Interment was in Westside Cemetery.

He was born in Lancaster County, a son of Herman Lee Broach and Mrs. Willie Mae Ghent Broach.

Surviving are his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Herman L. Broach; three brothers; Marion, Tommy and Nolan Broach, all of Lancaster; one stepsister, Mrs. Wanda McManus of Lancaster; a stepbrother, Gilbert Twitty of Norfolk, VA; and his maternal grandfather, John P. Ghent of Aiken.
